Does my head hurt because of the impacted wisdom tooth, or that article? The world may never tell. Loved it. It's kind of funny how it even began losing its own internal logic by the end. bumreview wrote:Martin Luther would be pissed.

That was funny. I hope it generates a million hits and becomes the foundation for a spin-off website devoted only to alternate dimensions, pocket universes and muliverse collapses. Rachel: Thank you so much, it really is a pleasure. While the boys chose a selection of songs that cast an eye inward on the irresponsible life choices and sexual hunger of today's modern teens, we've chosen a selection of songs that speaks to the nation as a whole during these troubling times filled with economic uncertainty and unbridled social war because, if there's two things America needs right now, it's sunshine and optimism ... also, angels. - Glee

Ah, I was going to show a site that has caploads of bad comics but it's linked in the article. Good thing I checked Anyway nice recap. I never understood the point of concealing your identity, even in a world that does not know you. Quote:why does Jimmy even feel the need to protect his secret identity in a world where he doesn’t know anybody? A good read this. Did Linkara put you on a dare to write something about this? I need a copy of that Don Rickles comic just so I can get the man to actually autograph it. And get humorously ridiculed in the process. "I've just found out that I have saboteurs in the tower! I still do not have the meteorite piece! I'm about to lose everything! We can talk about this later, if later even occurs!" The music changed and the announcer spoke of the next tunes with a few witty acknowledgments in between.

Great article! The faux Cap'n America looks to be the Guardian, created by Kirby and Joe Simon after they created.... Captain America. :0 He featured in a series called "Star Spangled Comics" with a bunch of hideously ugly (thanks, Kirby) kids called the Newsboy Legion. Looks like the issue referenced here also had the origin story for the NL. Don Rickles PLUS ugly kids? WOW! "A witty saying proves nothing." - Voltaire

I think I have a new favorite Agonizer article. I kind of miss the humorous captions, but this way works pretty well, too. Anybody who don't like that, daddy, don't like chicken on Sundays.
Anyway he's married and with a kid now and doesn't like to talk about how he'd fallen in love with a basic pixilated mouthless Japanese cartoon. --Nick

"Wait here, and don't touch anything!" Oh, yeah, that always ends well... The whole "red cape/blue cape" thing.. Ok, I know it's still a difference, but really, it's irrelevant. Bulls are colorblind, and are drawn by the MOTION of the cape, not the color. "My friend Batman" Isn't that a bit presumptuous? I mean, maybe he was different back then, but the Batman of recent years probably wouldn't like some annoying Superman hanger-on calling him his "friend"... BTW, as a resident of Arizona, I had to check; and, sure enough, there IS a Mount Tipton here in Arizona! I'm sure you're all thrilled to know that, eh? So, they set up Jimmy's vulnerability to the "Tiptonite", then don't use it in the climax? And instead, they just bring up this other thing out of nowhere (ok, it's Kryptonite, but it's still pretty much out of the blue). That's just terrible storytelling, right there. BTW, this was an awesome article, Albert! Thanks for the fun read. "Oh good, my dog found the chainsaw!" -Lilo, Lilo & Stitch. "Hemisphere Pictures: We've got half a mind to make a movie." -J. I have a feeling they set the beginning at Mount Tipton just for the "rhymes-with-Krypton" pun, but it makes me wonder why in the blue hell Perry White would be bullfighting in the middle of an Arizona desert (although, granted, I doubt the writers would even care). Also, since you reformated the front page, Albert, maybe you should set up ratings polls for the Agonizer recaps, as well? They're right up there with the full-length ones, now, and I'm pretty sure most of the people on here would rate this one either a 9 or a 10.

About Don Rickles anyway, was this before or after Kirby made Darkseid? Because that main contribution of his while in DC sure trumps any blunders he might have made while there. "I've just found out that I have saboteurs in the tower! I still do not have the meteorite piece! I'm about to lose everything! We can talk about this later, if later even occurs!" The music changed and the announcer spoke of the next tunes with a few witty acknowledgments in between.

Wait a minute. If we see alternate reality versions of Perry, Clark and Lucy, then where on earth is the alternate reality version of Olsen? Did he take the original's place back in the 'normal' earth? Perhaps growing an evil goatee while he's at it. "I've just found out that I have saboteurs in the tower! I still do not have the meteorite piece! I'm about to lose everything! We can talk about this later, if later even occurs!" The music changed and the announcer spoke of the next tunes with a few witty acknowledgments in between.

Pretty much at the same time. Kirby's JIMMY OLSEN was one of the "Fourth World" books- DC was hesitant about just putting him on three entirely new titles, so they had him take over one where the current talent was leaving (and which wasn't selling very well, so he couldn't do any worse.) I rather like his Olsen run, though the Rickles stories go off track even more than usual. As for this issue, I think what happened most of the time was that a cover was designed first and the writer's job was to come up with a story that justified whatever insane image was on the front. I have a feeling office tensions were high after some entries. ("Let's see, I have to make Jimmy- a giant Turtle man? Oh, FUCK YOU JULIUS.") The sad thing is, this story seems to make more sense than most of the others from this era. Reviews and other miscellany at Club Parnassus.

Contrary to popular belief, Arizona is not one big desert. Quote:(although, granted, I doubt the writers would even care). As evidenced by the fact that, as Albert pointed out the fact that he seems to be doing it out in the middle of nowhere, as opposed to inside a ring or anything... My mistake, then; I've never been to Arizona (and, apparently neither have the authors of this comic book), so I've mostly had to rely on documentaries that emphasize the deserts in Arizona (when they aren't emphasizing the Grand Canyon, that is).

Great article. As someone who spent a lot of time visiting Superdickery and seeing all these ridiculous covers it's nice to see an article that shows, in-depth, that yes, back then they were that ridiculous. I thought you were kidding when you said you'd put up the geekiest thing you could think of as an article. Anyway, interesting enough read. Loss Leader wrote:That was funny. It probably should be named after something from an alternate universe. Maybe a source of punishment, to reflect how awful the content is - a most effective means of discipline, surely. One line at the end would have greatly increased the entertainment value of this comic: "Oh! Did I say, 'dimensional-travel machine'? I meant, 'fevered-hallucination machine'!" "Sam, Ziggy says there's a 97% chance you're here to avenge the death of Vesper Lynd."
Field of Dreams is not a sequel to The Catcher in the Rye.
